Toasty is our bestseller and our original car seat coat. It has the same Seawool fill as every Buckle Me Baby Coat, with a lower neckline for kids who don't like anything around their neck and extendable sleeves for Car seat safety technicians (CPSTs) use them for their own kids. The back of the coat is thin. The shoulders come apart, so the straps rest right on your child's chest and shoulders. That means they are snug and safely buckled. There are no PFAS or PFOA in our coats. PFOA/PFAS are called forever chemicals, and kids' clothes should not have them.  We fill our coats with Seawool. Seawool is made from crushed oyster shells and recycled water bottles. We quilt the insulation to precompress it before sewing into the coat. This creates tiny pockets to trap heat and keeps the jacket flat for car seat safety. So it keeps your child warm but lets their skin breathe without being bulky. The outside blocks wind and snow. The inside is soft fleece, with pockets in the front to warm busy little hands. Are They Bulky? Most winter coats look puffy but let cold in. Traditional coat blow their fill in like a pillow. So in the wash it shifts around and leaves cold spots where the fill clumped together. Our coats use flat sheets of quilted fill that stays in place. So your child's jacket has no cold spots.
